Diwali 2026 Wholesale
Stocking Guide:
What to Order Now,
Before Everyone Else Does

Diwali is 131 days away. The boutiques that own this season are not the ones who order in September — they are the ones who order in June. This is your planning guide.

🪔 Oct 20, 2026 4 categories covered Boutiques + corporate gifting Order by August latest
Hitesh Sharma · Shree Srishti Textile, Sanganer June 11, 2026 · 10 min read

Every year in early October I get the same set of messages. "Bhai Diwali aa gayi — kuch hai kya?" And every year the honest answer is: the good designs are gone, the embroidered pieces are on waiting list, and whatever is available is at September pricing rather than the better rates that were available in July. The boutiques and buyers asking those October questions are not unlucky. They just planned late. This guide exists so that you are not one of them this year.

Diwali 2026 falls on October 20. The festive demand window — from Navratri through Diwali and into Dhanteras — runs October 2 to 24, 2026. That is 22 days of peak selling. Everything you sell in those 22 days was ordered, received, and merchandised before the season started. Which means the season is won or lost in June, July, and August — not October.

The Diwali planning timeline

June
Right now
Plan your range — decide categories, quantities, colours
First access to new designs. Production slots open. Better per-piece pricing for early orders. Full colour range available. This is the ideal window — and you are reading this at exactly the right time.
July
Good
Core order placed — especially embroidered and embellished pieces
Gotta Patti and zari-embellished pieces have 15–25 day production time. A July order arrives in August — giving you full time to merchandise before demand builds. Still good stock availability. Slightly fewer design choices than June.
August
Acceptable
Final top-up orders — ready stock only for embellished pieces
Navratri falls October 2. An August embroidered order just fits. Cotton and bedsheets still on production lead time. But best designs are filling up — less choice than July.
September
Late
Ready stock only — what's left is what's left
Custom and embroidered production is closed for Diwali delivery. Ready stock available but popular designs and colours are depleted. This is the "whatever is available" stage. Prices may be higher due to demand.
Oct 2–20
🔥 Peak
Sell — that is all
If your stock is in and merchandised, this is where you collect the return on your June-August planning. Navratri Oct 2–11, Dhanteras Oct 19, Diwali Oct 20. 22 days of the year's highest demand.

What to stock — the four Diwali categories

🛏️
Jaipuri Bedsheets
The single most versatile Diwali product — works as a gift, a home decoration purchase, and a personal buy. Every household buys new bedsheets for Diwali. Corporate companies gift them to 50–500 employees. Gift shops and home decor stores stock them deep. Bedsheets sell through every year without fail and are the safest Diwali category to overstock.
₹420–560 wholesale · bulk gifting from ₹480
Gotta Patti & Embellished Suits
The core Diwali function-wear category. Women buy for the Diwali puja, the family gathering, and the festive season parties. Gotta Patti on cotton (accessible) and Gotta on Chanderi (premium) both sell well. These need to be ordered earliest — embroidery production takes 15–25 days. The boutique that runs out of Gotta Patti in October leaves money on the table.
₹550–1,200 wholesale · order by July

Festive Sarees
Chanderi, Mulmul, and Sanganeri block print sarees all spike during Diwali. Women who wear sarees for functions buy 1–2 new ones for the festive season. Chanderi is the premium choice; Mulmul and Sanganeri serve the volume gifting and everyday-festive segments. Leheriya and Bandhani are especially strong in Rajasthan and Gujarat during this window.
₹350–1,200 wholesale
🎁
Dohars & Home Textiles
The festive season coincides with the onset of winter — dohars (lightweight cotton quilts) are a natural seasonal gift. Block print dohars are popular as Diwali gifts and for personal purchase. December follows Diwali with wedding season, and dohars from the Diwali stock often carry through the gifting and wedding circuit.
₹380–850 wholesale

Corporate Diwali gifting — the numbers

Corporate gifting is the most predictable Diwali revenue channel and the one most boutiques and gift shops completely ignore until September. Companies decide their gifting budgets in June and July and want delivery confirmed before October 1. A Jaipuri printed bedsheet set is among the best corporate gift in the ₹500–800 per-gift range — genuinely useful, authentically Indian, and presentable without looking generic.

Corporate Diwali gifting — 150-piece example
150 × double bedsheet sets @ ₹490₹ 73,500
150 × kraft gift boxes + tissue₹ 9,000
Delivery to corporate office₹ 2,500
Total direct cost₹ 85,000
Per gift cost₹ 567
Same from a corporate gifting vendor₹ 950–1,200 per gift

For a 150-person company, ordering direct from factory saves ₹57,000 to ₹94,000 on the same product. For HR teams and procurement managers reading this: we handle documentation (commercial invoice, GST), pack in presentable boxes, and deliver directly. This conversation should be happening in June, not October.

Branded / custom packaging for corporate orders

For orders of 50+ units, we can coordinate a company-branded insert card inside each gift box — your logo, Diwali message, craft story. The box arrives looking like a curated premium gift, not a wholesale purchase. Lead time adds 5 days. Minimum 50 units for branded packaging. Full corporate gifting guide →

The balanced Diwali order — a starting framework

For a boutique building a complete Diwali range, this spread covers every customer who walks in during the festive window:

30% — Bedsheets (gifting + home purchase, widest appeal, no size risk)

25% — Gotta Patti suits (core function-wear, order first, highest demand)

20% — Festive sarees (Chanderi, Mulmul, Leheriya — mix based on your market)

15% — Co-ord sets in festive colours (younger buyers, impulse purchase)

10% — Dohars (gifting + seasonal, carries into wedding season after Diwali)

This spread means your shelves are full for every Diwali buyer type — the gifting customer, the function-wear customer, the younger fashion buyer, and the home decor customer. Any single category running out during the 22-day peak window is 15–20 days of lost margin.

"The boutiques that call me in October asking 'kuch hai kya' are not unlucky. They just made the decision in September that should have been made in June. This year, make it in June."
